Diaconal Ministries

Diaconal ministries are those that attempt to care for those who are in need, the sick, the friendless, and to any who may be in distress. Consider caring for the church body through the following areas of service:

Offering Team

This ministry provides people for the collection of the regular offering each week and the Deacon’s offering on the second Sunday of the month.

Deacon’s Counseling Committee

In I Corinthians 12, Paul reminds us that the Church is the body of Christ. Each member is a part of the body, and when one part suffers, every part suffers. Therefore, we desire to help those in need of counseling with prayer, support, accountability, and financial assistance.

Budget Counseling Ministry

Excess debt and tight finances are a source of great stress and pressure in many households in our country and our church. It is our desire to bring hope in this area of life to the families of New Life.

The Budget counseling ministry disciples members and friends of New Life who have asked for help with their finances—teaching them how to make good decisions that avoid or fix long term problems. Our goal is to encourage them to learn and apply biblical principles to their spending habits, to provide practical advice and recommendations that will help them live within their means, and to enable them to reduce the burden of debt.

Car Ministry

The Car Ministry provides automobiles to single parents at New Life.

Home Repair Team

The Home Repair Team assists members of New Life who are in need of essential home repairs (including electrical work, dry-wall installation, painting, and remodeling).

Meals Ministry

The Meals Ministry is a mercy ministry of New Life Church. Our purpose is to show the love of Christ in a practical way to members of the New Life community who are in need of help. We make and deliver meals to members and regular attendees of New Life when needs arise due to illness, childbirth, or other circumstances.

If you would like to serve as a monthly coordinator for the meals ministry or have your name added to our list of “meal-makers,” contact Nancy Bower at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Mercy Team

This portion of the diaconate focuses on monetary needs of those in the congregation and also reaches into the community to bring the love of Jesus expressed through mercy.
